Building Financial Confidence Since 2018

We started clyseonova because too many Australians were struggling with basic financial decisions. Not because they weren't smart enough—but because nobody had taken the time to explain things properly.

Seven years later, we've helped thousands of people understand their money better. And honestly? That's what keeps us going.

How We Got Here

Back in 2018, our founder Roisin Sutcliffe noticed something troubling. She was working in financial services and kept meeting people who'd made poor decisions—not from lack of intelligence, but from lack of clear information.

The worst part? Most of these mistakes could've been avoided with straightforward guidance. But the financial industry seemed more interested in selling products than educating people.

So Roisin quit her job and started clyseonova. The idea was simple: what if we actually explained financial concepts in plain language? What if we answered questions without trying to sell something?

By late 2019, we'd helped our first hundred clients. By 2023, we'd reached thousands. Today, we're still doing the same thing—just with more experience and better stories to share.

What Actually Matters to Us

We could fill this section with corporate buzzwords. Instead, here's what genuinely drives our decisions every single day.

Honesty Over Sales

We've turned down clients when we weren't the right fit. We've recommended competitors when they had better solutions. Sometimes that costs us money, but it helps us sleep at night. If we can't genuinely help you, we'll tell you straight away.

Plain Language Always

Financial jargon exists partly to make things sound more complicated than they are. We refuse to use it. If you don't understand something we've explained, that's our failure—not yours. We'll keep rephrasing until it clicks.

Long-Term Thinking

Quick fixes rarely work with money. We focus on building habits and understanding that last decades, not days. That means some of our guidance seems boring at first. But boring financial strategies tend to work better than exciting ones.

Real Results Matter

We track how clients feel about their financial understanding six months and a year later. Those numbers matter more to us than how many people sign up. Because what's the point if the knowledge doesn't stick?

Meet Our Founder

clyseonova started with one person's frustration about how financial services worked. Seven years later, Roisin still runs every workshop and answers most client questions personally.

Roisin Sutcliffe

Founder & Lead Educator

Roisin worked in financial planning for eight years before starting clyseonova. She has a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning and used to advise high-net-worth clients. But she found the work unfulfilling—too much selling, not enough teaching.

These days, she runs workshops across Sydney and the Central Coast. She also writes most of our educational materials and personally reviews every client query that comes through. Her philosophy? Financial security shouldn't require a finance degree to understand.

Outside work, Roisin volunteers with a community legal centre helping people understand debt options. She also makes terrible coffee but drinks it anyway.

What Happens Next?

If you're reading this, you're probably wondering whether we can actually help. Fair question.

The honest answer is: it depends. If you're looking for get-rich-quick schemes or complex investment strategies, we're definitely not your people. But if you want to understand your finances better and make smarter decisions? We can probably help with that.

Our next group workshop runs in September 2025. We also offer one-on-one sessions starting in August. Both focus on practical skills you can use immediately—not theory that sounds good but doesn't work in real life.
